Four Things You Can Do To Prepare for Moving Day

Preparing to move to a new home can be a stressful time for you and your family. We here at All My Sons Moving and Storage want to help make the days leading up to your move as effortless and easy as possible.

Try implementing these helpful tips in the weeks leading up to your move in order to make the big day run more smoothly.

Sort items you no longer need

Throw out or donate items that you no longer use or need. This step will greatly simplify your packing and reduce the amount of stuff your Jacksonville mover has to cart to your new location.

Cut back on grocery shopping

Try to consume as much of the food that you have on hand as possible before you move. Some items like spices and baking goods are relatively easy to move, but perishable food is much more difficult to get to your new house safely.

Get a variety of boxes

Ask your Jacksonville mover about the types of boxes they supply and get a variety of types and sizes. Small boxes are best for books and other heavy items, while larger ones can be used for spare blankets and bedding that take up a lot of room but are light.

Invest in wardrobe boxes

Wardrobe boxes are great for moving clothes. These tall boxes have a metal bar along the top so that you can transport items without taking them off their hangers. This is a great way to simplify both packing and unpacking.
