Jacksonville is proud to host the Wounded Warrior Project, a veterans service organization to “honor and empower Wounded Warriors” from the post-9/11 conflicts. While the headquarters has been in Jacksonville since the organization’s inception, there are plans to possibly move the national headquarters South to Johns County. While the move’s not far, it does mean a loss of about five hundred well paying jobs in the area, half of which will be relocations.
While the news of people moving is always good here at All My Sons Moving & Storage, it’s always a shame to lose both neighbors and an organization that has been a badge of honor for us here in Jacksonville. Fortunately, the national nature of the organization means that Jacksonville veterans will still be cared for, and the hundred million some odd dollars spent annually in aid will still go where it needs to.
While many veterans are suffering under the present system to get timely care for even essential surgeries, organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project are making a real difference. You can do the same by making a contribution to their efforts.
