At All My Sons Moving & Storage, we know how hard it can be to pack for college. You’re trying to fit everything that you have into half of one small room, essentially. It sounds impossible when you put it this way, but our Jacksonville movers have you covered. We’re going to give you some tips for packing for college, so that your transition is as smooth as ever!
You should start packing for college by checking out your college dorm’s internet page. This way, you’ll be able to see what is provided by the school, and then you and your roommate can plan accordingly. A usual good rule of thumb for furniture: less is more in a dorm room.
As far as decorations go, try to discuss them with your roommate first. You don’t want he or she to be offended by your large posters, and vice versa. If you guys want to get fancy, you can try color coordinating stuff. However, it’s all up to you!
When you’re packing your clothes, don’t bring your entire closet. The best way to go about packing your clothes is to start off by season. More likely than not, you’ll be going home for Thanksgiving and winter break before it starts to get cold. When you go home for break, you can switch out your summer/fall wardrobe for your winter wardrobe.
An important tip from our Jacksonville movers is: buy new toiletries. If you take everything from your house, you’ll quickly realize that when you go home to visit, you’ll have nothing to use at home!
Don’t forget, when you get up to school, you can always run to the closest convenience store or mall to grab anything that you may have forgotten!
